A ruffled Dove in Viscose Fabric

Hello! As an avid fan of MaaiDesign fabrics, I jumped at the chance to be here today as guest blogger. I’m Caz and I teach sewing and run sewing events in Sydney as UsefulBox. When I was choosing the fabric I would use, it didn’t take me long to settle on Blossom Night Fabric by Atelier Brunette. It is 100% high-quality viscose and has a lovely drape so I knew it would be perfect for a Megan Neilsen Dove Blouse.  I have made this blouse before and have worn it a lot and have wanted to make another for a long...

With the weather finally starting to warm up again here in Melbourne we’ve begun to make the odd weekend trip to the...

The comfiest dress ever - My Pony Tank by Chalk and Notch

I managed to squeeze in some sewing time in between minding the kids these school holidays. I wanted to show what you can do with the gorgeous modal knits by Lillestoff. Not sure what modal is? Modal is a type of rayon, made from the fibres of beech trees. When combined with elastane (or spandex) you get a lovely knitted stretchy fabric that is also very drapey. It is extremely soft too. It is often used for underwear and sleepwear too as it just feels so good on your skin. The modal jersey fabrics from Lillestoff are lightweight, breathable and divinely soft. It's a...
