MaaiDesign x Winding Road Design Studio Collaboration
We are beyond excited to launch our first-ever exclusive collection, 'Mountain'. We collaborated with local artist, Alicia, from Winding Road Design Studios to transform her incredible designs into fabric!
Alicia is based in Tawonga at the base of Mt Bogong and draws much of her inspiration from her local environment. In northeast Victoria, we enjoy a unique mix of Australian native bush and deciduous trees, which are cleverly interpreted into her art.
Here you can see a video where Maaike talks about all the designs in the range and our journey to bring these gorgeous new fabrics to market.
To prepare and test the fabric, Maaike has been sewing up a storm which will also help you get a sense of quality and scale in these designs. We hope these garments give you inspiration for your own makes - many of them are on high rotation here at MaaiDesign HQ!
To make it easy, we have collated a list of all the patterns we used below:
Maaike G wears the Montana Dress by Style Arc
(fabric: Gum Leaf Teal in cotton poplin)
The Assembly Line Cuff Top
(fabric: Gingko Blue in cotton poplin)
Maaike wears the Bardon Dress by Peppermint Magazine and Elbe Textiles (fabric: Gingko Black in cotton poplin)
This one was a pattern from a Belgian book (200 Jurken), but try the Posie Dress by Sew Pony for a similar look.

Maaike wears the Frankie Dress by Tessuti.
(fabric: Gum Leaf Teal in cotton jersey)
