Instagram is a fantastic source of sewing inspiration.
I love the supportive sewing community on this social platform.
I must admit it is a bit strange how you slowly get to know random strangers a little better every day in this virtual world, but so much fun at the same time.
I can even say that I have made friends through Instagram when we actually got to meet in the real world.
As you may already know, I was born in Belgium but made Australia my home about 11 years ago.
I still love to follow what goes on in my country of birth and I get really excited by all the talent that comes out of that little country.
So let me boast a bit about Belgian Style and share 10 Belgian Instagram accounts you should follow.
Of course, there are many more out there, if you believe I should have added someone particular to the list, please let me know in the comments!
So here it goes, the titles link straight through to the Instagram accounts:
She is the "print-matching-queen"! You are sure to spot many examples where she has perfected this art. But that's not all. She loves colour, bold prints and is not afraid to experiment. And don't miss all those wonderful shirts she sews for her husband in record time!
2. Naomi Sluijs
Naomi is the designer and owner of the Soft Cactus and See You At Six fabrics. She has an amazing eye for prints and colours. While she is busy designing fabrics we can all drool over, she still finds time to sew for her 3 children and herself. Naomi only recently joined Instagram, so why not pop over to say hi?
Debora is Naomi's sister, she is also an amazing seamstress. Her Instagram feed is a visual definition of perfection and professionalism. All this while taking care of nine kids! I take my hat off to her!
Sylvia is an exceptionally talented seamstress. She sews for herself and her two children. Sylvia's creations are always on trend. I admire her fabric and colour choices. Sylvia created the Lila Jumpsuit and Dress pattern, in collaboration with Marte from Compagnie M.
Laurence seems to gravitate towards soft pastel colours. Her Instagram feed is simply a feast for the eyes. The clothes she creates for her children and occasionally for herself are truly inspiring.
Stunning photography, trendy colours, overall a pleasure to the eye. Lots of wonderful sewing inspiration for mum and the kids here!
If you are wondering if it is possible to create stunning outfits for kids from toddlers to tweens, the answer is yes! Check out Joke's feed to be inspired by absolutely gorgeous and trendy clothes she sews for special little and not so little people in her life.
Annick is very good at capturing her children in the moment. More often than not they are wearing something their mummy has made. And boy is Annick a brilliant seamstress! Be careful visiting Annick's feed. You will be left with a burning desire to make all the things!
From vintage inspired to funky and modern, from everyday to special occasion, Qwinta makes it all! And she chooses the most suitable fabrics and prints for each and every one of her creations.
10. Laurence Lebon
Laurence creates the cutest clothes for her two daughters and a son. And their clothes are super fun, comfortable and look exceptionally well-made. Laurence knows how to combine prints and colours, and the result is never short of amazing.
So that's it for now!
I hope you have enjoyed this list, and found a few more Instagram sewing accounts to inspire you.
