Johanna is not your standard pair of full-length jeans. Additional seams at the front and back replace the side seams, and together with the back yoke, they create a flattering fit and smooth shaping around the hips. Thanks to these seams, the pattern pieces are smaller – ideal for giving old jeans or leftover fabric a second life. Eye-catching classic jeans elements are included: a coin pocket, pointed back pockets, and a straight waistband with belt loops and a tie.

RECOMMENDED FABRICS:
Denim is the ideal fabric for this model, but corduroy, cotton twill and woven jacquard, with or without stretch, are also suitable for Johanna. Avoid fabrics with too much drape and opt for sturdier materials instead. Leather can also create a beautiful effect. If you have a long, narrow strip of fabric left over from a previous project, it might just be perfect for the side panels!
