Description

The Frida Shirt is a simple wardrobe staple that really comes into its own in the warmer months. The cut is slightly fitted on the shoulders and more boxy on the torso, with sleeves that finish just above the wrist bone. It’s a classic, useful garment that works in a huge range of textures and colours.

Construction features French seams, a gathered detail on the back, binding finishing around the neck, a simple patch pocket, and deep hems. These details combine to give the overall garment a considered, high-quality feel.

Skill level: Beginner - Intermediate.

Construction techniques: French seams, button stands, double back yoke with gathers, inserting a sleeve with armhole ease, patch pocket, buttons & buttonholes and a very beautiful flat binding finishing on the neckline.

Fabric requirements:
150 cm wide fabric: Sizes 4 – 12, 125 cm // Sizes 14 – 20, 145 cm // Sizes 22 – 28, 170 cm.
110 cm wide fabric: Sizes 4 – 12, 170 cm // Sizes 14 – 20, 220 cm // Sizes 22 – 28, 235 cm.

Notions:
* 5 x buttons (roughly 1cm in diameter)
* 20cm of mid/light-weight iron on fusing
* Thread in a colour of your choice

- Cotton poplin/lawn
- Linen
- Very lightweight denim
- Needlecord
- Light woolen weave
- Flannel / brushed cotton
