The Fleetood Dress is a versatile piece to accompany you through the seasons. The button-up bodice is gently shaped by side panels which, coupled with the back and front yokes, offer ample opportunity for creativity and customization in the form of colour-blocking or pattern interplay. Alternatively, for those in pursuit of a minimalist aesthetic, sew the Fleetwood in a solid colour to highlight these subtle details. View A has a more bohemian feel, featuring two-tiered gathered skirt that sits just below the natural waist, while View B, with its dropped-waist and single gathered skirt is a modern, tomboyish take on the flapper silhouette. Both views have 3/4 length sleeves with a placket and cuff to facilitate rolling them up should temperatures rise.

Difficulty: Advanced Beginner.

Notions & Supplies:

  • 7 - 8 x 1cm buttons, depending on which style you make.
  • 55cm (22”) x 5cm (2”) Lightweight fusible interfacing.

Fabric suggestions:
Style A is best suited to light to medium-weight woven fabrics with or without drape, although fabric without drape will result in a more structured and voluminous silhouette. Lightweight woven fabrics and/or those with some degree of drape are suggested for Style B.

Please note the copy shop file for this pattern is one long 36" pattern sheet rather than a standard A0 page.
