The Filippa bag is a belt bag designed to be worn around the waistband of trousers or a skirt (tip: make a matching set in the same fabric), or over a dress to add that subtle, edgy accent to your outfit. It’s also ideal for garments without pockets, when you still want to keep your essentials close at hand. Filippa is therefore not just a practical little bag, but a fully fledged part of your outfit.
Wear it slightly to the side on your hip, with the buckle centred at the front, or place the pouch at the front and shift the buckle to the side. Prefer to wear it crossbody? No problem! The largest version has an angled bottom edge so it follows your silhouette beautifully. Inside, you’ll also find a hidden inner pocket to keep small, valuable items safely tucked away. The smaller version is perfect for carrying just a few essentials, while the vertical version is ideal if you only need a phone case.
The design features a double-layered back panel with an integrated flap, onto which a cargo pocket is stitched. The belt sections are attached to either side of the back panel. For the closure, we chose a snap fastener and an adjustable buckle on the strap, allowing you to easily adapt the fit to your outfit. If you prefer not to have a visible snap, a magnetic snap fastener attached to the inside of the flap is also a great option.

RECOMMENDED FABRICS:
For this bag, you can use any non-stretch fabric you would normally choose for trousers. All medium-weight fabrics are suitable. Heavier fabrics, such as denim, will also work, but it’s best to avoid very bulky fabrics like teddy or heavy coating fabrics, as they are difficult to double up neatly. Because the belt sections and the back panel are firmly reinforced with fusible interfacing, you can also opt for a lighter-weight fabric. Do keep in mind, however, that a more delicate fabric will be less practical for everyday use. For the interfacing, choose a fusible that is not too soft. The extra-thick interfacings often used for bags are not necessary here. A medium-weight interfacing such as S320 or fusible cotton is ideal.
