The Delft Dress is a unique, fun, and confident beginner-friendly sewing pattern. This pattern has darts, a bias-bound rounded square neckline, puff short sleeves, a curved waistband, scalloped gathered skirt tiers, and a wide hem. Delft is not a form-fitted dress, but is full of generous ease, perfect for twirling. The curved waistband in the back allows for comfort and a loose fit around the waist, and hips. The skirt length falls below the knee but can be easily adjusted to suit your preference.

RECOMMENDED FABRICS: Lightweight, structured wovens are recommended for this pattern. Some possible wovens could include linen, chambray, cotton lawn, cotton poplin, seersucker, cotton twill, etc. Drapey fabrics such as viscose, silk, or rayon are also beautiful, but may slightly increase the difficulty of the pattern.

This pattern would also be beautiful in a mid-weight woven, think jacquard, denim or an embroidered fabric. We believe you can make this pattern from any fabric, as long as you are up for an adventure. However, the instructions have been created with a lightweight fabric in mind.
