SUPPLIES:
This pattern involves sewing through multiple layers, so keep this in mind when choosing your fabric.

If you worry about the safety of buttons on baby clothing, then snaps can be used just as effectively.

Drawstring cord:
Faux drawstring: maximum of 15cm drawstring cord

Eyelets/Grommets:
Any size eyelet that matches your drawstring cord.
(5.5mm eyelets were used for the garment in the cover photo.)

You will need a scrap of interfacing or reinforcing fabric for the faux drawstring options.

Ribbing:
You will also need cotton-Lycra ribbing for the cuffs and pocket accents.

RECOMMENDED FABRICS:
Note: The yardage given is for a sweatshirt with pockets. If you do not require pockets, you may need a little less fabric.

Any medium weight stretch fabric such as french terry or sweatshirt fleece. Lighter weight stretch fabrics such as cotton-Lycra jersey can also be used, but will result in a more relaxed fit.

You need fabric with at least 20% stretch and closer to 50% is best.
