You'll need a zipper foot for your sewing machine to sew the piping seams as well as the optional zip.
Suitable fabrics:
We recommend choosing a sturdy and durable fabric for your main shell with a weight of around 13-18OZ / 450-600GSM. A sturdy lining will also help to give the bag shape so try to choose something with a good weight and structure with a weight of around 10-15OZ / 350-500GSM. And a mid/light weight cotton or linen is recommended for the piping to help reduce the bulky seam allowances.
