The Cornelius Western Shirt, created in collaboration with Cornelius Quiring, blends iconic Western details with thoughtful construction. Saddle up - this pattern is loaded with options, from sewn-on yokes to collars and pockets, so that you can customise to your heart's content. Cornelius is semi-fitted, but can be further tailored to the body with optional front darts and back fish-eye darts. A classic sleeve with a tower placket and cuff is shared with all versions, while additional features can be mixed and matched to create your perfect Western shirt. Keep it classic with simple fabrics, or go full rhinestone cowboy with piping, fringe, beading, and embroidery.
- View A is a classic Western shirt with angled front yokes, patch pockets with flaps, and a timeless two-piece collar.
- View B is a showstopper with curved front yokes, smile pockets with piping, a dramatic Western two-piece collar, and optional decorative piping throughout.
Please note this pattern is available in our regular 0-20 and 14-32 size ranges, as well as 34-52 Men's range, a new addition to our size range. This new men's size range spans from 34(34" chest and hip) to 52 (52" bust and hip).

Fabric Suggestions:
- Light to medium weight wovens and shirtings.
• For a crisp, classic shirt choose structured wovens like poplin, chambray, oxford, broadcloth, and dobby and twill shirtings.
• For a softer effect, choose linen, Tencel, voile, viscose, silk, or flannel. - If you’re making View B and using a heavier weight fabric like flannel, we recommend using a lightweight cotton for the smile pocket bags (Q + R).
Supplies and Notions:
- Fusible interfacing, 0.5 yard (0.5 m)
- Choose a light to mid weight woven interfacing for a softer effect
- Choose a crisp, non-woven interfacing for sturdier cuffs and collars
- Cotton lining for pocket bags, 0.25 yd (0. 25 m) (Optional, View B)
- Shirt buttons or snaps, 14-16 x 1/2" (13 mm) - 5/8" (16 mm) wide
- Matching thread
- Marking tool
- Piping (View B)
