High-quality boiled wool knit.

This fabric is perfect if you'd like to sew clothes that are cosy and durable.  It's a knitted fabric with a slight bouclé effect.  It doesn't fray and it looks almost identical on both sides so it works well for unlined jackets.  

Suitable for: Jackets, Jumpers, Cardigans and Vests.

Colour: Maroon, Burgundy.

Fabric Composition: 100% boiled wool

Width: ~140cm 

Weight: 385/m2 (heavy weight)

Stretch: 30% cross-grain, 15% lengthwise

Care: Handwash or Dryclean

Be aware that if you choose to wash it will shrink a lot (up to 20% lengthwise).

Fabrics are sold in 25cm increments, always provided as a continuous piece.

Stretched

Beautiful fabric, but sadly after making a coat that was fully lined and hanging it in the wardrobe it had stretched so much that my hands could no longer reach the pockets. I stored the final product as I would other items. Careful instructions on storing and care of the fabric should be provided.

Boiled wool for jacket

I’m so happy with the product and service from my purchase. The order was dispatched so quickly and with a nice little sample to tempt my next order. The wool is beautiful in colour, sometimes more pink in some light, and a great weight for my project. I used this to make the London coat from Tessuti and it turned out perfectly!
