Merino jersey, knitted in Melbourne and made from 100% Australian fine merino wool.

This lightweight fabric is soft to the touch and naturally temperature-regulating for all-day comfort.

Suitable for: tops, base layers, cardigans, thermals and more.

Colour: Red

Matching Gütermann thread: 46, 909 or Maraflex 46

Fabric Composition:  100% merino wool

Width: ~150cm 

Weight: 200g/m2 (light)

Drape: fluid/ drapey

Stretch: 40% cross-grain, 20% lengthwise

Opacity: Opaque

Care: Wash up to 40 deg. C. Warm tumble dry, cool iron.

Shrinkage: 3~5%

Love my merino t-shirt

The jersey is lovely, such a silky feel, wonderful drape. I used the Wardrobe Builder Fitted Tee pattern, and the recommended Maraflex thread. Really pleased with how it turned out. I am an experienced sewer but not confident with knit sewing (that blade scares me). Using the Maraflex thread makes all the difference because I can use the sewing machine to do the tricky bits like the neck band and setting the sleeve, then follow up with the overlocker. Also, for hems, I just finish the raw edge with the overlocker, turn up, then straight stitch with the Maraflex. It’s easy and neat.

Beautiful fabric

Wonderful fabric as usual. I intend to make polo jumpers using the Paola pattern suggested. I intend to add a front , short central zip to open if I need to and perhaps extend the sleeves and add a thumb hole to keep the cold out and add a layer of warmth to some of my hands. Cant wait to get it done.
