SUPPLIES:
At least one of your fabrics needs to have some structure to it, otherwise your hat will be too floppy!

If you want functioning chin straps, you will need a small amount (less than 3cm) of hook-and-loop (Velcro).

RECOMMENDED FABRICS
:
You will need a maximum of 50cm of each fabric for adult sizes, 40cm for child sizes and 35cm for baby sizes.

Outer Fabric:
Light to medium-weight fabrics. A wide variety of fabrics can be used. Fabrics with a little weight to them work best such as corduroy, denim, felt and wool blends. Fabrics with a small amount of stretch (e.g. stretch corduroy) are easiest to sew, but the stretch is not vital.

Inner/ Lining Fabric:
Medium/thick, soft, warm fabrics such as sherpa, faux fur, minky or fleece. There is also the option to use a thinner fabric for some parts of the lining. Quilting cotton or microfleece are good choices.
