Denim is one of those classic fabrics we all know and love... but if you’ve ever sewn with it, you’ll know not all denims are created equal!
Whether you're making structured jeans, a flowy shirt dress, or that perfect everyday jacket, the right type of denim makes all the difference! We are here to help!
-
Rigid Denim (12oz)
Our classic rigid denim is sturdy and structured — ideal for jeans, jackets, and dresses or skirts that need a bit of body. It’s got that true, authentic denim feel, and it softens beautifully over time.
-
Stretch Denim (9oz) - NEW
A little bit of stretch, a whole lot of comfort! This one’s perfect for fitted jeans, jackets, pinafores — anything where you want a bit of give without losing that denim quality.
-
Lightweight Denim
Think drapey, relaxed, and easy to wear. Our drapey lightweight denims (including the lovely washed organic denim) are perfect for shirts, flowy dresses, skirts, and loose-fitting pants. A great choice when you want the look of denim, but with a softer hand and more movement.
We’ve created a simple guide here to help you explore the different denim types based on the type of project you have in mind.
But read on for some pattern pairings...
Jeans
Our rigid and stretch denims are perfect for jeans (of course!). We are loving these patterns...

We have put together a collection of patterns for jeans below... You can filter these for stretch or non-stretch depending on your preference.
Jackets
Is there anything more essential than a denim jacket? Here are a few of our favourites...
