The Susanne, the fastest cardigan ever?

The Susanne, the fastest cardigan ever?

This is the first cardigan I've ever sewn for myself. And what a quick project that was! The Susanne cardigan sewing pattern comes with many options, but I chose the easiest version. I just finished the edges with a rolled hem, and then it was simply a matter of sewing the pieces together. The pockets are created by folding the fabric over, therefore exposing the back of the fabric. This jacquard is double sided so is perfect for a design like this. Another winner for me. And it matches perfectly with the top I sewed recently in our denim blue...

My second Louisa dress, for a special occasion in Belgium

Once upon a time a good friend from back in my student days was going to get married!I love weddings and since a lot of my uni friends were also invited, I didn't want to miss it for the world!  The wedding was in Belgium -the country where I grew up- so I had to travel to the other side of the planet for it! Dressmaking success: The figure flattering Louisa Dress

So I made this dress last Saturday. My hubby was kind enough to take our 3 monsters walking in leech-infested mud in the Blue mountains -while dodging another massive summer hail storm - so that I could have some selfish sewing time! Isn't he the best!! (And didn't I feel slightly guilty although they had a ball!) Sewing this dress was like a race against time, I wanted to finish it before the troops got back.  In the end, I managed to slip into my finished masterpiece about 2 minutes before they walked through the door! Phew! Me: "Tadaaaah! Check...

The Ileana dress, another great pattern by Compagnie M.

The Ileana dress, another great pattern by Compagnie M.

I have been a huge fan of the patterns by Compagnie M for a while now. Marte - the designer - has a style that I just really love. Her designs are unique, modern while also a bit retro, just fabulous. Needless to say, I didn't have to think twice to be part of another pattern test for her. The previous one - for her culottes - was so much fun. This test was for her Ileana dress, a dress with a circle or half circle skirt. I knew this one would be an instant hit with my daughter. "A skirt that flies up and down as...
