ABOUT

Description

For men who would like to stay cozy but look stylish - this shawl collar cardigan can look trendy or classic depending on the fabric choice. The sweater is slim fitting with long cuffed sleeves and a flattering fold-over shawl style collar.

This piece sews up quickly in a forgiving knit and features several customizable details such as a shoulder and back yoke (easily included or left out), small or large collar, and decorative top-stitching. Instructions clearly indicate when certain details can be added or removed and contain tips on how to simplify sewing with knits.

Skill level: Intermediate.

Sizing: XS – XL (see sizing chart with the pictures below).

Fabric suggestions:

Self fabric: Medium weight fabrics with a small to moderate amount of stretch. Make sure the fabric isn’t too thick for your machine to handle! Easy to sew: fleece (bamboo, man-made), athletic materials. More challenging to sew: knits (wool, cotton, acrylic blends).

Contrast fabric (Variation 1): Thin to medium weight fabrics with some stretch: same as self, stretch denim, stretch suiting. Materials with no stretch such as leather can be used for the shoulder detail but NOT for the back detail (stretch needed for arm movement).
