Brilliant quality

It was my first time sewing with stretch velour and I was quite nervous, but there was no need! The quality of this fabric was lovely; I could even leave some of the seams unfinished without fear of the pile shedding away (which I've heard can be an issue with lower quality fabrics). I do recommend listening to the Love to Sew podcast episode 270 on sewing with corduroy and velvet first; they have some great tips.

Exactly what I asked for

I can’t help loving cotton velour and the pieces I bought from Maaike, with matching ribbing, were perfect. Fantastic service. Exactly what I wanted. Thank you Maaike.

Black velour

I bought 3 metres of black cotton modal velour to make a new version of a favourite dress I made in the early days of sewing. It's the Halla Agnes and the original - made in a cheap cotton lycra - is looking worn.
The fabric is perfect for this pattern, soft with good drape, with some body for my mature 12-14 size.
It has washed and sewn well, not finished as yet but I can tell it's going to be a stunner. I'm hoping to make a little bolero with the rest of the fabric.
