The Rushcutter Sewing Pattern | In The Folds
Installments by available from $100 More info
The Rushcutter is an oversized knee-length, A-line dress, designed for woven fabrics, available in two different styles.
The Rushcutter is beautifully designed and carefully drafted to include many interesting details, to make this a very enjoyable sew for sewers at a range of different levels.
You will receive:
- A printed booklet with fully illustrated instructions to hold your hand every step of the way.
- Two options:
View A features three-quarter length raglan sleeves, large side pockets, invisible zip, bound neckline and a wide hem facing.
View B is a sleeveless version, with back button closure. It features in-seam pockets, with neckline and armholes finished with bias binding. Included in the pattern is an optional waist sash, that is suitable for both styles.
Techniques involved include: sewing a straight seam, sewing a curved seam, bias facing armholes / neckline, sewing buttonholes, buttons and an invisible zip (depending on which view you decide to make).
The Rushcutter is quite a versatile pattern and is compatible with a range of different fabrics. Consider using, light to mid-weight fabrics such as: cotton shirting, poplin, sateen, linen, silk, light to mid-weight wool, chambray, light to mid-weight denim. Your fabric choice will have a big impact on the silhouette you will achieve. For a more structured, boxy look, consider mid-weight denim, twill or jacquard. Or, for a more relaxed, draped look, consider a viscose blend or silk crepe de chine.

I have recently bought online some denim, pattern and zip etc to suit making myself some jeans. I had no idea of what quality to expect as my purchase was sight unseen. Not only is the denim a fantastic quality fabric, my order arrived within a couple of days. I was pleased with my purchase and doubly pleased that I supported a local supplier too. Well done Maaidesign.
The linen is beautiful. Service is great. Packaging is kept to a minimum and where it is used it’s environmentally responsible. I’ll be back.
I am very happy with my purchase. I ordered my patterns during the bushfire crisis in Victoria. Maaike emailed me to advise that there could be a delay in delivery due to the
fires. She responded to my inquiry very quickly and made me feel that my purchase was important to her.
When my parcel arrived I was very impressed with the little personal touches. I also received a lovely gift that I have been using. I will definitely order through Maaidedesigns again.
Love my lovely green denim and can't wait to make a pair of Dawn jeans. Maaike even included an extra 20cm bonus! Thanks Maaike!
Very happy with my purchase and the prompt service would highly recommend purchasing from this lovely business .
