High-quality boiled wool knit.
This fabric is perfect if you'd like to sew clothes that are cosy and durable. It's a knitted fabric with a slight bouclé effect. It doesn't fray and it looks almost identical on both sides so it works well for unlined jackets.
Suitable for: Jackets, Jumpers, Cardigans and Vests.
Colour: Maroon, Burgundy.
Matching Gütermann thread: 368, 108
Fabric Composition: 100% boiled wool
Weight: 385/m2 (heavy weight)
Stretch: 30% cross-grain, 15% lengthwise
Care: Handwash or Dryclean
Be aware that if you choose to wash it will shrink a lot (up to 20% lengthwise).

Love the fabric. A bonus - postage was quicker then the bigger retailers. Thanks a mil x
I couldn’t recommend Maai design more for the quality and selection of fabrics, as well as the customer service provided. All businesses should strive to have as much care and passion as this one. Will be looking to buy many more orders of fabric here in the future.
Maaiki was so helpful in facilitating my exchange after the first fabric I purchased wasn't quite what I wanted, and very patiently talked me through meterage requirements for binding for a jumper. Thank you so much!
Prompt delivery! Boiled wool a beautiful mulberry colour. Have made it into a Tessuti Verona jacket.
I found this wonderful site by Instagram and also lots of our students (from our sewing classes) have used this site to order fabric. Maaike was wonderful in all the communication whilst waiting to receive the out of stock beautiful Boiled Wool in Cornflower Blue. It arrived promptly after I ordered it and I am so happy with the colour and quality - just as described. I am making a little unlined jacket to wear most seasons. I chose to prewash the fabric and it did shrink as Maaike described on the website but am glad I did as it enables me to have a more serviceable garment (not fond of dry cleaning) and I feel the wool is thicker as a result. I deliberately ordered more meterage to cover this. I will definitely be ordering from her again (very tempted to get more boiled wool) and will be recommending this site to other students.
